Enchanted Island

Today the boys and I took our neighbor Christine to Encanto Park. In addition to the regular park features they also have a small amusement park. The kids rode on all the rides, including two train rides and we had a picnic lunch. It was a lot of fun! Maybe next time Christine's mom and sister can join us.

School's out for the summer!

I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend. Dennis and the Cougars played in a last minute baseball tourney and played up an age division (10 and under) and came in fourth place in the National League. We also went to two BBQ's with friends and had a great family weekend!

Mother's Day Tourney!!!!

Cougars were 2nd Place winners in the American Division!!!!!!!!!!!! Here are some highlights! It was a wonderful weekend and a great way to celebrate Mother's Day. On Sunday morning each boy presented his mom with a rose and a kiss on the field prior to the game. I couldn't ask for more!

Ah So Teppanyaki

On Mother's Day we went out to dinner with my parents and my mother-in-law. We went to Ah-So Japanese restaurant and it's quickly become my favorite place to eat out. The boys really enjoyed the entertainment while they ate and grandma's were very pleased with their stepping stones that the boys made for them.

New lens!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dennis and the boys suprised me Friday night with an early Mother's Day gift..... the Sigma 30mm 1.4 lens for my Nikon!

Check out the depth of focus in these first photos. Obviously I have a lot to learn since this is a prime lens and I'm used to my zoom but I love it already!

Thank You Val!

My next door neighbor, Valerie, made me the cutest mother's day gift. It's a door hanger for the front door to let the neighbor kids know if the boys can play! It's so cute and I hope it works! The dog barks way too loud everytime the doorbell rings and with summer break approaching I'm afraid it's going to be ringing nonstop!

That reminds me I need to add Val's blog to my favorites!

I did it!!!

I know many of you have asked and YES! I signed up for photography classes at the community college for summer school! Yay! :) I'm very excited and my friend Jennifer signed up for the classes too! Classes start the middle of June!

ISR Refresher

Billy went back to Ms. Jane this summer for his ISR refresher. He completed the lessons over a year ago and has now completed two refresher courses. ISR is survival swimming. It's a great concept and I'm a total supporter of this program.

These photos were taken the day he had to complete the rescue swimming in summer clothes. The next day he preformed the same tasks ecxept he was wearing winter clothes and shoes. The wet diaper must weigh 5 pounds alone!
