T-ball...the start of another champion!

Billy had his first t-ball practice tonight. He was in pure heaven. He is quite the athlete which in a way surprised me. He played in the pitcher position for the first few innings and ran the ball to first base to make sure it got to it's desired destination! He hit the ball off the tee with ease and usually ran to first, second, and then third base before the coach sent him back to first. It was a riot to watch and we were lucky enough to be placed on a great team with fun parents. Of course big brother Dennis helped "coach" which was fun for him as well. Next week will even be better because Dennis will be back in town and can enjoy the fun. When we got in the car I asked Billy how he enjoyed his first practice and he asked when he could go again! There you have it!!

Aye aye matey......

Billy's pirate costume arrived in the mail over the weekend. Billy was so excited and striped naked to try it on. He insists he needs an eye patch to be a real pirate though.....

Proud papa!

Here is one of my dad playing with his new toy! :) It takes good pictures for a p/s!

Good in green!

Billy wanted his pic taken after I took one of his daddy (see below.) He was wearing a "Hulk" shirt so I had to crop! :) Almost as handsome as his dad. Now let me see if Dennis will let me photograph him!

My HAWT hubby!

This photo was taken this morning for a work bio. Thanks Jilly for helping with the edit! :)

Macro time

I pulled out the macro lens yesterday and tried to bond with it again. It's not love at first site but I haven't given up on it either. These were a couple taken in my neighbor's yard.

Meet Officer Strieter

This has been Billy's favorite pastime lately. He like to dress up as a police man and arrest his brother!

We have been slowly getting back into the school routine. Baseball is back in full force and Dennis still loves to play. Mid term reports went home last week and Dennis is maintaining a straight A average. Billy starts t-ball in two weeks and is very excited! He enjoys preschool and karate and every morning asks if it's a preschool day. I think he would go everyday if we let him!

Dennis has been working very hard and he's been traveling an awful lot. We miss him when he's gone but we're lucky things are going so well at work, especially in this economy. He also started his training for the marathon in January.

Next month brings a lot of fun activities: we are going to a wedding, Dennis has his 20 year high school reunion, the annual Thompson Halloween party, another baseball tourney and much more. Oops, I almost forgot that my photography classes start again next month too! I can't wait for the cooler temperatures! I'm so over swimming and the heat at this point that I can't wait to decorate for the fall season.

Labor Day Tournamnet

The Cougars played hard and had a great time as they played in their new age group, 10U. This was the first tourney for the fall season after a two month summer break. There were a few roster changes but for the most part the Cougar Family has remained the same.

For the photogs out there my ISO was set high, high, high! I'm talking as high as 3200! We are in the Monsoon season here and during the three day tourney we experienced rain, overcast skies all mixed with 100+ temps. It was a nightmare and since the D300 doesn't have an auto setting all pics were done in manual. I'm not happy with the noise in the shots taken at such high ISO but I guess I'm lucky to have those shots at all!

Dennis pics................total overload!

Dennis performed his best this tourney! He has a lot more power behind his hits now and he didn't acquire the nickname "magnet" for nothing! We are so very proud of him. He almost got his first home run...... It was so close!!! He was barely out at home plate but the umpire said the catchers sleeve touched his back so he was out. Of course Dennis was beyond devatated but there will be more homeruns in his future I'm sure.
